Wow! What an evening 🤩☀️
Results/places may not have gone our way tonight, however the spirit of Mereside was definitely in full flow! It was great seeing our children take part in their events with such joy and pride. Also, the support between the children was amazing.
Well done to all participants in tonight’s Area Athletics event!! Very proud of them all for their efforts, in what is a very competitive event and conditions were hot!
A lot of our U12s were running/throwing/jumping against year group above so some valuable experience for them for next year! 💪
However, we did have some success in terms of finals…Tabbie (one of our sports captains) won her heat and went through into the 80m sprint final as one of the fastest 8! She only went and achieved second place in the
final!! 🥈😎🎉
Last year, she just missed out on a podium finish, finishing 4th, so to come back 12 months later with determination to get that medal makes you truly inspirational to all other Mereside children – an example that anything can happen if you put your mind to it! ⭐️👏
