Blists Hill

Year 3 had the most amazing day travelling back in time to the Victorian era and walking around Blists Hill Victorian town! We took part in a Victorian school workshop where we had to dress up as Victorian children and walk in silence down to the Victorian school. When we got to school, our teacher was really strict and we were only allowed to talk if Mrs McCallum spoke to us! We practised our handwriting using slate and slate boards, our 4 times table and practised some reading. We all had to use our right hands – which was very tricky for the left handed! We then got to explore the town – we saw candles being made, medicine being made at the pharmacist, we saw beautiful horses and joined in with a sing song at the local pub! We got to spend our pocket money at the Victorian sweet shop and ended our day playing in the best park ever!
