Some children have even added a bed and tables and chairs inside to make him feel more cosy.

We read the story ‘Bog Baby‘ before hunting for our very own bog baby and making one using clay and twigs. We also had lots of time to enjoy being outdoors and explore the nature around us.
7 months ago Posted on 08th Apr 2025 by H E Cummings World Faith Day We had a fantastic day in year 1 learning all about some traditions and rituals at a Jewish Wedding. We danced to traditional Jewish wedding music, ‘Hava Nagila’ was a particular favourite! We tried some hummus, salt beef, dates, olives and pitta bread. We broke some plastic bottles and chanted, ‘Mazol Tov’, which finished off a truly wonderful day.

8 months ago Posted on 14th Mar 2025 by H E Cummings Castles Homework Project Good morning Year 1! For the next 4 weeks instead of weekly homework we would like year 1s to complete a homework project. This half term in History we are learning about castles. We would like you to complete a model, poster or anything you feel inspired to produce to show us your learning and research about castles. We are learning that the Normans were the first people to build castles in the UK and they constructed stone keep castles and motte and bailey castles. We are investigating the features of castles and people who lived there and their roles within the hierarchy of the castle. On 9th April we will be visiting Whittington Castle on a school trip. More information will be sent out about this next week. Please take your time deciding, completing and researching this project as we want the children to thoroughly enjoy and be immersed in the process and we want you to as well! They should have more and more facts to contribute as we continue our learning this half term. We would like this project to be submitted week beginning 7th April. We are very excited to see what you come up with! Have a lovely weekend. Thank you for your support with this project. Miss Cummings and Miss Cluderay LikeComment
