Year 5 Cinema trip - Spongebob - The search for Sqaurepants

Nov 17 Tue

We are delighted to share that we will be heading to the cinema on Tuesday 17th November, to watch The Spongebob Movie - Search for Squarepants, at Cineworld, Shrewsbury! The central themes of the film align heavily with the Non-Statutory KS2 Framework for PSHE (Personal, Social, Health, and Economic education). Developing Confidence and Self-Acceptance: The core emotional arc of the movie revolves around SpongeBob and Patrick accepting themselves as "kids" rather than "men" and finding strength in their authentic identities. Relationships and Friendship: The journey to Shell City tests the loyalty and teamwork between SpongeBob and Patrick, teaching students about supportive friendships and collaboration. Resilience and Motivation: SpongeBob's optimistic "I’m Ready!" attitude can be evaluated to teach children how to face challenges with determination We will leave school promptly at 09:20am to walk to the cinema. On this day children will need to bring a packed lunch, if children are free School Meals they are entitled to a lunch provided by the school and this will be arranged in separate communications. Children should bring a coat, water bottle and a snack. These can be carried in a small bag or in coat pockets. We will be a little more flexible with snacks for this special trip as we feel it’s part of the cinema experience — however, please continue to follow our strict no nut policy due to allergies. The trip is completely Free!! We’re really looking forward to a fun and meaningful morning together out in our community!
