We have had a really busy start of the week for our Careers and Aspirations week!
On Monday, we welcomed Julia Buckley into school to talk to us all about her role as our Member of Parliament. She told us all about her job role as an MP and what she does for our local community. On Tuesday, we welcomed two visitors into Year 3. The first was Sophie who was from the Sabrina boat company in town. She taught us all about the history of the Sabrina, showed us some old photographs and explained her job role as well as others who work with her. After our time with Sophie, we then met the Poo Professors! The Poo Professors taught us all about how they use microscopes to look at animal poo to check for parasites, eggs or worms. We then were able to look at lots of different specimens (not of poo) using microscopes. These included: human blood, frog blood, a bee leg, a pigeon feather, a butterfly wing and a dragonfly wing – it was so cool! On Wednesday, we took part in a Street Dance workshop which was lots of fun! We learnt all about what it is like to be a dance teacher and then learnt our own street dance routine – Diversity, watch out!
