We have celebrated VE Day this year by wearing red, white and blue to symbolise the Union Jack. We explored and talked about the significance of VE day and that VE stands for Victory in Europe. We designed and made our own medals out of clay, thinking about the significance of the symbols and wording we were using. VE Day is still thought of as an important celebration by people in many countries around the world today. Many people take the opportunity to remember everyone who sacrificed their lives or were injured during the war. It is also a chance to remember the day that brought peace to Europe after a long and difficult six-year conflict.
