Harvest Worship

Thank you to everyone at Mereside for a fantastic Harvest worship. We focussed on sustainability and being thankful for everything we have. Children spoke clearly and confidently and it was wonderful to see the art and learning created. Thank you to everyone who donated for St. Barnabus foodbank, we had a massive selection of dry goods so thank you so much Mereside families for your generosity and kindness.

EYFS – Sports week

EYFS had a great sports week, participating in lots of lovely sporting activities.

EYFS trip to Love to Stay.

Wrens and Robins have been reading Splash, Anna Hibiscus during our literacy sessions. We went to explore the beach area at love to stay and had a wonderful time.

EYFS – PE session

PE
We had our first PE lesson today. Everyone looked super smart in their PE kits!
Today we were learning about spatial awareness. We played some games to help us find safe spaces. We learnt about warm ups and cool downs and noticing how exercise affected our heart beat. We’re looking forward to the next one already!

EYFS – Errol’s Garden shoe boxes.

Shoe Box Exhibition

We have been reading Errol’s Garden and talking about different places people live. We created show box rooms and we set up an exhibition to look at our fabulous creations! We were all so proud to talk about what we had done to make it and asked questions to our peers. We went around looking at our friends shoe box rooms and also went to look at the other EYFS class too. They were all amazing! Well done and thank you so much for the super effort in making them.

They have now been joined together to make an apartment block like the one in our story, Errol’s Garden.

Poetry Performance – EYFS

Poetry performance.

Wrens and Robins did an AMAZING job performing to their friends and grown ups. They were all super stars reciting their poems!

Sustainability Week – EYFS

Sustainability week.

Wrens and Robins have been talking about Reduce, Reuse, Recycle this week and how to keep our environment clean. We have reused bottle tops to make bugs and have collected them to put in the British Ironworks giraffe for recycling. We have been litter picking and spoken about reducing the amount of electricity and packaging we use.

Attingham Home Farm Trip

Wrens and Robins had a wonderful time visiting Home farm at Attingham. We fed bottle fed the lambs and had animal food to feed the cows, sheep and pigs. We were shown around the farm by farmer Sam and farmer Ben. They told us lots of amazing things about the milking parlour and all about the animals that live on the farm. We saw some amazing tractors and even had time to play on the park! What a wonderful day!
